![]() I know there is now the 'sidecar' functionality, but I'm talking about using the iPad INSTEAD of a display, not as well as. Or I'm hopeful that I might be able to connect my Mac mini directly to the iPad Air. I will then either need to find a compatible display / keyboard (as I draw the line at taking those with me). Although not ideal I have a trip coming up and will perhaps have to take my Mac mini with me. However, there are a few things that I only have on my Mac mini that I may need access to (I believe I can access files using OneDrive, but there is one application that only works on my Mac mini - I don't think remote access is a viable option). This can be useful while remaining in the room but not sitting at the computer. First of all, you can switch to the mirroring mode to control the Mac from the iPad. I think it can do most things I need (especially with addition of magic keyboard). While you can simply use the iPad as a secondary monitor, there are some specific controls in macOS to improve your experience. In the meantime I planned on using the iPad Air when on the road. At some point (maybe after 10 November event?!) I will order a new MBP. I had a MacBook Pro for when I was on the road, but have just given that away. ![]() I normally use a Mac mini with 27" LG display. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival on a new iPad Air.
